Mt. Ashland Ski Patrol Counts on YALA SuperFine Merino Wool

Winter fun and wool go together like hot cocoa and marshmallows. For any snow-bound excursion, wool is likely to play a part in insulating your tootsies, tush, or more!

Mt. Ashland is our local winter recreation wonderland, so we were excited when the Mt. Ashland Ski Patrol (MASP) decided to add our 'AMAZING' (their words) Merino Wool Track Jacket to their uniforms!

MASP ensures everyone has good, safe fun at the Mount Ashland Ski Area and much more. They also tend to anyone who may incur an injury and blast into rescue mode when someone ends up out of bounds in more dangerous territory.

But what is unique about Mt. Ashland Ski Patrol is their dedication to excel in what they do by taking on leadership roles beyond Mt. Ashland.

❄️ Many MASP members pursue and complete the most advanced, Ph.D. level training in the Ski Patrol realm as Certified Patrollers - Mt. Ashland hosts 9 of only 12 Certified Patrollers in the PNW division of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho!

❄️ Integrated Patrol - MASP unifies their paid and volunteer patrol sectors with shared training, meetings, uniforms, and work shifts. Traditionally, Ski Patrols are more disjointed between the two sectors. MASP leads Integrated Patrol Training with other Ski Patrols who want the same cohesion.

❄️ MASP were early adapters and integrators of Psychological First Aid (PFA). As such, they work with the National Ski Patrol to develop PFA practices and training and host monthly PFA seminars for other Ski Patrols.

These are the everyday heroes and leaders we get excited about supporting with the warmth, comfort, and performance of YALA's SuperFine Merino Wool. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for the rest of us!

But, of course, you don't need to be a local hero to benefit from YALA's Merino Wool products. We appreciate them just as much as underlayers in the office and at-home lounging.

SuperFine Merino Wool Comfort Layers are for people who share our high standards of softness. It's incredibly smooth to the touch. It's wool for people who love bamboo!

But that's not all. It's also:

  • Sourced from small family farms in New Zealand, where they raise Saxon Merino Sheep. We trace every bale of our wool to these farms.
  • Certified by the Responsible Wool Standard to ensure the sheep that produce our wool get treated humanely.

And it's softer than any wool you've tried, with all the natural benefits you expect.

  • Insulating
  • Lightweight
  • Breathable
  • Quick-drying
  • Moisture-wicking
  • Odor-resistant

We've said it before; your comfort is at the heart of everything we do. We are honored to support the Mt. Ashland Ski Patrol and are delighted to keep tushies everywhere warmer throughout their Winter rest and recreation with the magic of wool.
